Biochemistry

Biochemistry is the study of the chemical processes which take place in and relating to living cells, it is used heavily in the production of medicine, but also explains living processes in all areas of life sciences, including genetics and botany.
An example of biochemistry is in metabolism which is the chemical transformation within the cells of organisms to convert food or fuel to energy to run cellular processes. How petrol is converted from a liquid to a gas to make a car function, is the same process for digesting food to form energy and help your body to function on a daily basis.
This course will introduce you to biochemistry, it aims to show that you can achieve an understanding of some of the fundamental concepts in biochemistry without building on a basis of pure science.
